Whitespider.org, launched in May of 2007, is one of the webs newest and most exciting photography communities.  Striving to be the premiere free online educational photography site available to photographer’s of all skill levels, explorative amateur to seasoned professional.  To achieve our goal Whitespider.org features member’s galleries, community forums, travel blogs and information, product reviews, current industry news, articles and columns by industry professionals and much more.  Whitespider.org is a site designed to give the knowledge hungry photographer a fun and interactive home to share knowledge, learn and spend time.

 

About our Readers

 

Whitespider.org reaches thousands of photographers each and every day with content that is timely and informative.  Because of this, readers tend to revisit the site multiple times during each publication cycle (bi-monthly).  While our readers range in skill level from those new to the art of photography to working professionals, the majority of our readers classify themselves as advanced amateurs and professionals.  While many of our readers continue working with film, the majority (87%, based on informal polling and registration responses) use digital exclusively or in addition to film, and interested is digital technologies of all types.  Whitespider readers offer a great view of the photography community in general and act as the customer base many photography related industries rely on.

 

Advertising on Whitespider.org

 

Advertising on Whitespider.org is done in two ways, each of which is priced on a monthly base.  The first is through banners; banners can be placed in a number of high traffic locations and are very flexible in size requirements and designs.  The possible banner locations and prices for each are described below.

            Monthly Columns:  Whitespider.org is lucky to have industry professionals to lend their unique insight into the world of photography and digital technologies.  Each columnist continues to develop a strong and loyal readership of both members and visitors that make sure to spend time each month reading the columns.  Current regular columnists include:

Banner advertisements are generally run in a vertical orientation to the right side of the column’s main content and can be made in jpg, gif or swf formats.  Price per month for one column: $300

 

            Monthly Articles:  Whitespider.org, in addition to its monthly columns, also features article written by well respected guest artists.  The content of the articles include how-tos, product reviews, travel guides and everything in-between covering the photography world.  These articles are very well read and because of the ever-changing content a perfect subject tie-in can normally be found that would be perfect for your product or service.  Like the monthly columns, banner placement is run in a vertical orientation to the right side of the article’s main content and can be made in jpg, gif or swf formats.  Price per month, per article:  $250

 

            Master Series Interviews:  Each quarter Whitespider.org features an interview with one of the industries top professionals.  These interviews are widely publicized, in-depth looks at the career, work, technology and background of each Whitespider “Master”.  Banner placement location is the same as Monthly Columns and articles.  In addition we offer a second placement of a hyper-linked logo within the Master Photographer’s gallery portfolio in the form of “brought to you by…”  Price per month: $500

 

           

Sponsorships

 

The second advertising opportunity is through the use of sponsorships.  Sponsorships give you a more community friendly way to promote your business, giving the visitor a sense that the particular feature is only possible because of your sponsorship.

 

            Locations:  Each sponsorship opportunity is located on the Whitespider.org homepage and can be done in one of two locations.

 

            User Images:  Each month a new slideshow is created featuring the works of member’s of the Whitespider.org community.  This slideshow is located at the top of the homepage and is seen by everyone visiting the site.  Your company’s hyper-linked logo will be placed under the slideshow, preceded by the text “sponsored by”.  Price per month $800

 

            In This Issue:  Acting like a table of contents the “In this issue” area of the homepage features a rotating slideshow highlighting the featured content of each month.  The content featured includes, monthly columns, articles, product reviews, Master Series interviews and other information deserving of being highlighted.  Because of its placement between highly visited content, the “In this issue” section is viewed by virtually everyone that visits the site.  Your logo will appear above the slideshow under the Heading “In This Issue” and be preceded by the text “sponsored by”.  In addition you will receive a complementary banner within the “In this issue” slideshow.  Price per month $700

 

Whitespider Podcast

 

The Whitespider.org podcast started airing in January 2008 and has grown greatly since its launch.  Those an aggressive internet advertising campaign the podcast is exposed to countless photographers on a daily bases.  Hosted by Whitespider founders Edward Mendes and John Ford, the Whitespider Podcast encompasses the best of the website while infusing it with personality and character.  The podcasts cover everything from product reviews to interviews with Master Photographers and general discussions regarding photography as an art form.

 

            Sponsorships:  Sponsorship opportunities are available for all new Whitespider Podcast and can be placed in the opening of the show ex. “This Whitespider Podcast is brought to you by Company X…Tag line and message” or at the end of the show ex. “Thank You for listening to the Whitespider Podcast, Company Y is proud sponsor of the Whitespider Podcast…”  The actual sponsorships can be reproduced or read live by the host and can say virtually anything you’d like.  Podcast are uploaded twice monthly. Price per podcast $150 with discounts given to multiple podcast sponsorships.
